Farm Enterprise Budgets
Enterprise budgets provide estimates of costs and returns for producing crops and other farm enterprises. Sample budgets shown below are intended to represent typical North Florida growing conditions, farming practices, and markets. Actual costs and returns for a farm enterprise are different for every farm and will change from year to year.
Farmers can use the budget templates below to calculate their own cost and return estimates. Having a good understanding of costs and returns at the enterprise or product level can inform decisions on choice of crops, marketing and pricing, production practices, and capital investments. For a basic introduction to product costing, see this document: Knowing Your Product Costs : A Primer for Farmers and Food Entrepreneurs.
