A Partnership to Advance Best Management Practices in Florida

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Office of Agricultural Water Policy funded a $7 million project with the UF/IFAS North Florida Research and Education Center - Suwannee Valley to research the efficacy of Best Management Practices in North Florida. This is a long-term bmp extension and appled research site that utliizes a 40 acre pivot that is cut into four quarters for the purpose of conducting two paired watershed studies. Lysimeters were placed randomly throughout the 40 acres underneath varying crop rotation for the purpose of measuring groundwater quality.
