Beyond Basic Produce Food Safety: A Hands-On Analysis

This one-day workshop serves as an annual update for food safety, but a little different than what has been offered in the past. This class is intended to take you out into our farm at the NFREC-Suwannee Valley near Live Oak, FL and actually learn by doing things that you are required to do, such as: properly take a water sample, properly shock a well, clean and sanitize a packing line, take swabs of the packing line, inspect field borders for wildlife intrusion, sanitize harvesting containers etc. This class is intended to take you out of the classroom and into a real-life farm situation and practice food safety SOPs and SSOPs.

Build Your Own Farm's Food Safety Manual

This program was designed as one day workshop for fruit and/or vegetable farming operations: field or greenhouse, intended for farmers beginning the process of developing a food safety plan. This program guides attendees thru the main parts of a food safety manual and helps them understand what they need in order to complete their plan.
